I am mother to a wonderful young son and we live in Cambridge with my partner, who has three beautiful children of his own. I trained with Developing Doulas I and am currently a Recognised Postnatal doula. I regularly attend training days to enable me to continue learning and applying new knowledge in my work. I often feel though that the most valuable learning comes from each family I work with.
Becoming a parent has been the most significant event in my life so far. Every day brings something new and I have gained a lot of insight about myself in the process. I am a true believer in living in the moment, positive thinking and seeing the joy in everyday things. I believe that nothing has to be perfect, just good enough! I also strongly believe that all families deserve the best start and if a family feels a doula could be beneficial at this time, I will be happy to help. I always aim to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of a family.
My job involves supporting and encouraging families while they find their own way. I feel very privileged to be able to join families at such an important time in their lives.
My career has always involved supporting and nurturing individuals and families during times of transition. I feel that the right support is crucial during times of change and will signpost you to the resources that are appropriate for you and your family. Being a part of Cambs Doulas means that I always have access to a network of lovely doulas. If I find that your needs are beyond my own personal level of knowledge, there will always be another doula who I can contact for information. I have a DBS (enhanced) certificate. I carry a Helios homeopathy kit in a lay capacity.
