Louise Stanley

My name is Louise and I work as a Birth and Postnatal Doula, Baby Massage and Yoga Instructor and qualified Maternity Nurse. I am also currently in my final stages of gaining a degree as an Antenatal Teacher, Postnatal Practitioner and Pregnancy Yoga Instructor. I cover the Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire and North London area.

I live in Cambridgeshire with my partner and 3 children and have worked in maternity services for many years, supporting families through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

I can support you by providing the right physiological and psychological guidance throughout your pregnancy and birth. When your baby arrives,  I provide perinatal aftercare that supports new parents with feeding, sleeping routines, colic and reflux, support with twins or triplets, baby cues or just simply having someone to talk to. As a trained baby massager and yoga instructor I can enhance your bond whilst encouraging positive mental health between you and your new baby.

As your birth doula, we will have at least 3 antenatal appointments to discuss you wishes and worries surrounding your pregnancy and birth. I will be on call 24 hours for you from 38-42 weeks pregnant, continuously supporting you through your labour with at least 1 postnatal visit after the birth.

As your postnatal doula, I will be there to support you through your first few days, weeks or months. I can support with feeding, sleep, helping you recognise newborn cues, colic and reflux, light house duties and emotional support. Postnatal care is flexible and tailored to your needs.

I am fully compliant with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative at level 3, which supports new families with breastfeeding, expressing, mixed or formula feeding. I can also signpost you for further information regarding your feeding preference, to a reliable, evidence based sources.

I have Public Liability Insurance, a valid DBS and a full valid paediatric first aid certificate along with current knowledge in Safeguarding children and adults. I enjoy attending study days to enhance my knowledge. Past study days include ‘Diabetes in pregnancy’ and ‘Bereavement’, I will also be completing an enhanced ‘Reflux and Colic’ course in August 2021 followed by ‘Sleep Coach training’ shortly after.

I love to support families during these special times and milestones. I feel it is a special privilege to be invited into a new family’s space and empower you in the decisions you make.
